Crescent Street
The name Crescent Street is derived from the location of the Waltham factory. It was first used as a grade name on the Model 1870 which has the distinction of being considered as the first watch to be advertised as a railroad watch. It is the second highest grade of the Model 92 and was manufactured in 17, 19 and 21 jewel movements. With the three jewel configurations, the number of movement variations in which it was produced, and a few two tones thrown in the mix, it makes the Crescent Street an interesting watch to collect. 21 Jewels: The overwhelming majority of Model 92 Crescent Streets were made as 21 jewel movements. Most of them are nickel movements but some were made two tone. The nickel movements appear in all seven variations and the two sub-variations. The two tone movements appear in variations 2, 3 and 4.
19 Jewels: The 19 jewel movements appear in variations 4, 5, 6 and 7.
17 Jewels: The 17 jewel movements appear in both nickel and two tone. The nickel and were made from Royals. The word Royal was milled out and the "Crescent St" inserted. They are only found in Variation 2.
